On September 9, The FitWit Foundation held our first annual Supper in the Garden fundraiser at Sugar Creek Garden in Decatur. The event was a smashing success, thanks to the generosity of our sponsoring restaurants, volunteers, and hungry ticket holders. We raised over $6,800 for the foundation! The food was amazing, the weather was perfect, and the music was delightful. We’d like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to Urban Cannibals Bodega, Honeysuckle Gelato, McGowan’s Pub, Farm Burger, H. Harper Station, Home Grown, White Oak Pastures, Wisteria, Whole Foods, Rosebud, and Chef Kevin Gillespie for providing wonderful food, as well as the Split Levels for serenading us all evening. And of course, the many hours of preparation from our board members and volunteers.
The mission of The FitWit Foundation is to empower young people to live healthy and successful lives. Through our flagship program, FitTeens, we teach young people to harness their own internal strength to achieve new personal bests physically, academically and emotionally. The money raised from the Supper helps us to continue growing our program and continue making a difference in the lives of kids and teens. We can’t thank our supporters enough, and we look forward to many more successful fundraisers in the future.
